Welcome to Crafting Coven

In a world filled with uncertainty and stress, Crafting Coven serves as a meaningful sanctuary where members can connect with ancient traditions, natural rhythms, and their own creativity. Our seasonal craft kits and community gatherings provide accessible crafting experiences that accommodate varying abilities and sensitivities, fostering connection despite physical distance.

Our Story

The first official Crafting Coven was held in Portland, OR in 2008. Since then, we evolved from hosting in-person crafting events on new or full moons in various cities to our current subscription-based offering with virtual tutorial components. This transformation allows us to accommodate more people, including our disabled creator, while maintaining the magical essence of our community.

Drawing on two decades of experience teaching craft classes, founding and running a makerspace, and selling handmade crafts at markets, Crafting Coven represents the evolution of our craft expertise into a format that works for everyone, regardless of physical limitations or location.

What We Offer

Seasonal Craft Kits

The heart of Crafting Coven is our thoughtfully designed seasonal craft kits. Four times a year, coinciding with the equinoxes and solstices, members receive complete craft kits delivered directly to their door:

  • Spring Equinox (March): Recent kits have included painted wooden eggs and spring themed pom-poms
  • Summer Solstice (June): Previous kits featured air-dried clay projects and abundant paper flowers
  • Autumn Equinox (September): This season often includes projects like embroidery with autumn motifs and fabric stamping
  • Winter Solstice (December): Past offerings have included handpainted beeswax candles and felt holiday ornaments

Each kit includes premium-quality materials, detailed instructions, and access to comprehensive video tutorials. All kits are designed with accessibility in mind, taking various abilities, energy levels, and chemical sensitivities into account.

Membership Tiers

We offer three membership tiers to suit different interests and engagement levels:

Coven Craftworker: $200/year or ten monthly payments of $25

  • Four seasonal kits (Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Autumn Equinox, Winter Solstice)
  • Access to virtual tutorials
  • Basic instructions for all crafts

Mystic Maker: $280/year or ten monthly payments of $35

  • Everything in Coven Craftworker plus:
  • Ritual elements for each seasonal craft
  • Digital offerings (Book of Shadows pages, ritual outlines, guided meditations)
  • Virtual gatherings with community sharing and ritual practices

Ancestral Artificer: $400/year or ten monthly payments of $50

  • Everything in Mystic Maker plus:
  • Four additional mini-kits for cross-quarter sabbats (Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh, Samhain)

Members save approximately 33% compared to purchasing individual seasonal kits, which are priced at $75 each when available for non-member purchase.

Individual Kit Purchases

While membership provides the best value and experience, individual seasonal kits are available for purchase during their corresponding months only:

  • Spring Equinox Kits: Available only in March
  • Summer Solstice Kits: Available only in June
  • Autumn Equinox Kits: Available only in September
  • Winter Solstice Kits: Available only in December

This limited availability preserves the seasonal intention behind each creation and builds anticipation for the wheel's turning. Individual kits are priced at $75 and include all physical materials needed for the project, along with access to instructional videos.

Many of our current members began their journey with a single seasonal kit purchase. When you experience the quality of materials, thoughtful instructions, and supportive community, you'll understand why our membership retention rate exceeds 85%.

If you choose to upgrade to a membership after purchasing an individual kit, we'll refund the cost of that kit!
